Jewellery Care
Simple steps to keep your pieces looking their best.
A little care keeps your gold and silver finishes bright for celebrations to come.
Put it on last, take it off first
Apply perfume, hairspray, lotion and makeup before you put your jewellery on, and remove your pieces before bed.
Keep it dry
Avoid wearing your jewellery while bathing, swimming, exercising or washing dishes. Water, sweat and humidity can dull the finish over time. If a piece gets wet, pat it dry with a soft cloth.
Avoid chemicals
Perfume, bleach, cleaning products and other chemicals can damage plating and stones. Do not use harsh cleaners, polishing dips or ultrasonic cleaners.
Clean gently
Wipe your jewellery with a clean, soft, dry cloth after wearing. For crystals, use a slightly damp cloth, then dry straight away.
Store it carefully
Keep each piece separately in a dry pouch or box, ideally on its Orella card. Bangles and chains can scratch or tangle if stored together. Keep sets of earrings, necklaces and tikka in their original arrangement so nothing gets bent.
Handle with care
Do not pull or twist crystals, charms or clasps, and open and close bangles gently. Plated finishes naturally soften with frequent wear, so save your most delicate pieces for special occasions.
